Folk Storytelling, Punk Spirit & Truth

Reuben Lovett is a contemporary folk songwriter based in the West Midlands. Drawing from rock, reggae and punk, Reuben weaves his own distinctive style of emotional storytelling.

The Live Experience

Reuben’s live show moves between intimate narrative and explosive folk-rock energy. He is a powerful and versatile live performer.

Either solo or with his full backing band, Reuben’s shows are crafted around connection and participation. He draws an audience into each song before giving them something to shout, sing, or dance along to.

Raw, Energetic, Intimate and Unfiltered

Years of festival and grass roots appearances, touring projects and live collaborations, have established his reputation for a raw, energetic and emotionally charged experience.

“Arguably song performance of the entire festival. Spellbinding.”

Festivals For All reviewer Barrie Dimond – Lakefest 2026

Barrie Dimond, singled out Reuben’s performance of ‘Free My Body’, describing it as “so powerful, so raw, so emotionally intense and overwhelming” and praising it as one of the standout performances of Lakefest 2026.

Dub Catalyst

Reuben is a full-time member of Dub Catalyst, an 11-piece original festival and touring band, performing regularly across the UK festival and live music circuit. Their tour dates include numerous headline spots and main stage shows, which are frequently sold out.

The Music

Reuben’s current single, “Old Mexico” released with cover art he hand-carved himself to create a lino print, completed in the same DIY way he approaches everything.

Writing from lived experience, Reuben’s songs sit somewhere between delicate and spiky.
